I love this! I have been banging on about the sexual chemistry in TSOM like a mad wan for years to unlistening ears. This adult reflection on a childhood comfort fillum is so enjoyable!

Did not know I was capable of smiling today, but here we are, and *thank* you:

"I watched a lot of TV as a kid, and thank god I did, because look at me now: an emotionally intelligent adult whose references are all from fictional people."

It took me a long time to get to this letter, and I'm so glad I saved it for when I could savor it. This is one of my favorite childhood films, too (my severe Baptist grandmother *only* owned this one video). This exact scene was so stirring for me, even as a very young kid; I didn't even have to watch the video to recall every moment with you.

I haven’t watched TSOM in years and that clip of Maria and Cap dancing is HOT! Now I need to rewatch!

Wonderful! I've been made fun of for loving this film but it's such a joy. As is your writing. Thank you!

Love all of this, especially the empathy for the Baroness.
